"During my lunch hour, I escape from a busy office setting to a place of quiet and tranquility. The chapel has been a place of serenity for me and I am most grateful that it has become part of my life." Sharon Freeman - Arlington, Virginia

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Catholic Information Center

I know there are hundreds of worthy causes you could support. I know we have to earn your support, and I hope our activities, programs and website do just that. I hope you will join us by making a tax-deductible gift today.

The Catholic Information Center supplements and supports the work of local parishes. We strive to promote the "new evangelization" called for by Pope John Paul II through our principal mission: to make the Catholic Church present and alive in the hearts of the men and women who work in the international financial and business center of the Nation's Capital. Founded in 1957 to provide downtown DC Catholics a place to nurture and grow their faith, today, CIC serves nearly 1,000 individuals each week through Holy Mass, Confession, spiritual direction, lectures, discussion groups and special events.

Every single day you can visit CIC to see some of what your support makes possible and the thousands of resources made available to you.

I want you to know exactly what CIC does and is doing, because the more you know, the more you'll understand how important and effective are the dollars you contribute to CIC. Please click here to give your tax-deductible contribution today!

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Rev. William H. Stetson

Director

Why does the Catholic Information Center need my support?

It is with the generous support of contributors like you, making both small and large gifts that CIC is able to sustain and expand its programs and services.

"You were there when I needed a place to pray and attend Mass." Helen Broxmeyer – Fairfax , Virginia

Today, the bookstore covers only 1/6 th of our $600,000 operating budget . A modest subsidy of $50,000 from the Archdiocese helps us to maintain our location and presence on K Street , but we need the consistent, yearly, quarterly, even monthly help of generous individuals like you to cover the remaining 5/6 th of our budget.

Your contributions support our lecture series, book signings, discussion groups, and providing the downtown DC population with spiritual direction and access to the Sacraments. In the past two years alone, the CIC:

The chapel at CIC especially is lovely, a peaceful place to spend time in the Presence of Our Lord. The selection of books and religious goods is…Catholic, and it was with great delight that I found a copy of the Daily Roman Missal. The young man at the register said that he always was pleased when someone bought the Missal, and having had time to read in it and use it at Mass, I understand why.” Charles W. Walton – Takoma Park , Maryland

•  Held over 60 lectures

•  Facilitated 40 discussion groups on topics such as Theology of the Body and C.S. Lewis' Four Loves

•  Hosted guest speakers including: Raymond Arroyo, George Weigel, Jim Towey (Assistant to the President for Faith Based Initiatives), and Senator Rick Santorum

•  Guided over a dozen individuals to full communion with the Church, and

•  Gave hundreds of weekly visitors the opportunity to attend Mass, receive spiritual direction, or purchase books

But we cannot host such events without your consistent financial support. Without people like you, our programs would flounder. Please consider contributing again today, help us not to have to hold back on a single program, but instead have dozens more.
